Water Sports
The rivers of Slovenia are world renowned as some of the most beautiful in the world. Right at the top of the list is the river Soca, a real mecca for water sports enthusiasts.
Bovec is home to a number of water sports agencies, each offering rafting, kayaking, hydospeed or canyoning trips on the river and surrounding streams.
It is possible to take an organized trip, join a group lesson or book a private session with a coach. It is also possible to hire or buy equipment from a number of shops in Bovec.
In its upper stretches around the house the river is predominantly made up of sections of grade two and three with short, portable sections of grade four. In it’s middle reaches the river becomes more gentle with wide, easy sections of one and two while in it’s lower reaches in the gorges above Kobrid sections of grade four and five prevail.
It is possible to use the Soca from April until the end of October. Limited ticket sales mean that the river never becomes crowded.

It's looking like Bovec/Kanin will not be opening until Thursday 23rd. Good base and it should be a great opening week
