Walking
The Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park offer walkers and hikers a huge array of opportunities.
Gentle walks along the valley bottom such as the Soca trail which follows the course of the river, taking in a number of natural and historical sites.
Relaxing strolls through tranquil valley meadows or high alpine pastures, both an abundance of color with flowers and butterflies.
Breathtaking treks to bleached limestone summits high above the tree line accessible by walking path or protected cableways.
Most of the paths are well route marked with red directional arrows or a red circle with a white centre being painted onto rocks.
Organized walking holidays with a qualified International Mountain Leader or a local UIAA guide can be arranged for groups from as little as £460 per person.
