After a warm and sunny October the first snow of the season fell in the valley bottom on Thursday 2nd November. Not enough to settle properly but I guess that it means that winter is well on it’s way. There is still traces of earlier snow fall higher up and the larger peaks seem to get a regular dusting.
Took a drive over the pass into Italy and then on to Nassfeld on Friday. I’ve not ridden this resort so was wanting to get a feel for the place before it opens on the 2nd December. For somewhere that doesn’t appear on the British skiers tourist map I was pretty impressed. 110km of marked piste, a couple of parks and a pipe, nice looking terrain and allegedly enough snow cannons to cover every square meter. Here’s hoping they dont need them!
Spent the rest of the next week either painting or stacking the huge pile of wood that we had delivered (two tractor trailers worth!) The house is starting to look pretty good, not so much 80s chic anymore. Early December will see a new boiler system being installed along with a new second floor bathroom, broadband internet and hopefully the last of the painting.
There are a couple of weeks remaining during January and February, if you’re interested email me and we’ll see what we can do.
